Lake Hongze is the fourth largest freshwater lake in China.
The lake is surrounded by two cities of Jiangsu, Suqian and Huai'an, and its northwest part borders Anhui Province.
In its history, the lake was much smaller in the 11th century and then was enlarged four times bigger than the original
size when Huanghe River changed its course, forcing its water into the lake. |
