Medical University/School Enrolment
Fact Sheet
Jiangsu has more than twelve medical
universities/schools province-wide dedicated for education in medicine,
traditional Chinese medicine and pharmaceutics. Some of these professional
schools are affiliated to comprehensive universities but the
others are independent medical schools. Five of those
schools are ranked highly in various national rankings by the national and provincial health or
educational authorities and have been approved for acceptance of
international students fluent in English.
Why do you need to enroll in
Jiangsu’s medical universities/schools?
1. Most of these medical
universities/schools are listed on the newest version of
2007 of the World Directory of Medical Schools by the WHO (the
World Health Organization), an organization of the
United Nations, and on IMED (the International Medical Education
Directory) of FAIMER (Foundation for Advancement of
International Medical Education and Research).
2. All graduates from these
medical universities/schools will earn a reputable medical degree and are qualified to
either practice in China or apply for their medical licenses in the United States, Canada,
Australia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, etc. The medical graduates are also eligible for
further educations in international prestigious higher education
institutions for PhD, post-doctoral trainings.
3. The medical tuitions in China
are very affordable presently but it is likely increase dramatically in the
future. Before 2007, the tuition per year per student, for
an international medical student, is about 20,000 RMB (about
$3,000 USD) per year, plus 6,000 RMB per year for meal and accommodation.
In comparison, the medical education tuition in the United States is about $45,000 USD per year.
However, many top medical universities/schools in China have
doubled their tuitions since 2008 and it is possible to increase further.
4. Over the
years, many Jiangsu’s medical higher education institutions have
established widespread cooperation with wore than 300
international higher education organizations in over 100
countries. A large
number of academic faculties have been sent to the western
countries to conduct collaborative research and academic exchange.
The number of recruited foreign academic staff
or language teachers from Europe and North America have
dramatically increased.
