Tomorrow will be the Eve of China's Spring Festival of 2013! The first day of this new year is on Feb. 10 and the new year's symbol for 2013 is Snake, Year of Snake.

Find your favorite restaurant for a celebration and relaxing! If you work for a Chinese employer you will have a week of holiday this year or even longer. If you are going to travel just keep in mind to book your ticket earlier. Every year, the traveling situation around the time is chaotic and the bad traffic may delay your trip at any moment. Have a safe trip!

China's air pollution at danger levels

Air pollution smog

Cold weather, lack of wind and a dearth of environmental regulations have lately created a storm of toxic smog in northern China including Beijing, the capital of the country. Air pollution levels have shrouded Beijing in smog for the second time in about two weeks, forcing airlines to cancel and residents have been warned staying indoors as much as possible as the pollution was "very bad".

The outlines of buildings in Beijing receded into a white mist as pedestrians donned face masks to guard against the thick, caustic air. The US embassy reported a level of PM2.5, one of the worst pollutants, at 526 micrograms per cubic metre, or "beyond index", and more than 20 times higher than World Health Organization safety levels over a 24-hour period.
