I taught for 3 weeks in Taizhou before I had a fight with my boss and left. Could not be happier to get out of there. As noted - there are almost no expats, very, very few speak ANY English. My school promised me a nice new apartment - even sent a beautiful 'artists rendition' - when I arrived - the reality was a little different... Old shitty dorm, without a kitchen. WTF? That said, the city is very new and modern and... Empty. It's the least crowded city I have been in China. So many teaching jobs out there - cant recommend Taizhou. Nanjing is nearby and quite nice, in the future I would consider moving there myself.
