hotel condition

hi there, i have recently signed up to a guided tour in the nanjing area and the tour company just informed me that they have arranged a hotel for my stay at nanjing. it's called the nanjing shanshui hotel. any comments on the condition of this hotel will be highly appreciated. thanks in advance!

it's a 4 star hotel. it has close to 200 guest rooms with some shopping/entertainment facilities. i can't say how good the hotel is because i haven't stayed there...in general 4 star hotels are clean with good service

just so that you know, a 4 star hotel in china might not be equivalent to a 4 star hotel of international standards - it's usually equivalent to a 3 star hotel. i once found one of the 4 star hotels to be not in good condition - so watch out

yea, there are so many 5 and 4 star hotels. it makes you wonder about their actual quality

i dont' think so, it depends on hardware and software. Usually hardware is much better! I have travelled all around Europe and stayed in 3 star and 4 star hotels, usually 3 star hotels are like family-run hotels, quite small scale. But the service there's really good compare to the hotels in China.
