Posted: Mon May 25, 2009 8:10 pmHello! My girlfriend and I are currently teaching English at the #1 and #2 high schools here in DanYang and we have been here for four months. We have not seen one foreigner since we moved here back in January and would very much like to meet and chat with any English-speaking people who also live here in this city. We both volunteer at an English Corner run by a Nanjing University student in hopes of meeting some other English/foreigners but there seems to be nobody here in the city other than us...

Me and my girlfriend are moving to Muyang near Suqian in August to teach English.
Anyone have any advice/info for us before we move out? i.e. what should we bring? what's it like? how much money can you live off? What's the price of a beer!?

I suggest that you bring whatever you can with you. The city, Suqian, is not big city where you can buy goods you want or you have to drive to the nearby city center such as Nanjing to buy.
The life standard is cheap by foreign people. A beer, 375 ml, the best brand Qingdao, is around 5 rmb, less than 0.7 usd.
