Newcomer to Nantong

Postby wongis » Fri May 25, 2012 12:04 pm

My family and I will move to Nantong during August 2012. We are now living in Sweden and have a 4 year old son. We will stay in Nantong Magnolia Apartments. Location address is in the Chongchuan Economic Zone, South of Century Avenue, West of South Gongnong Road and North of Chonghai Middle School.

Anyone that answers these questions below
- what kind of volunteer work or activites my wife can do in Nantong or nearby?
- where to meet other foreigners, any community club
- where for a 4-year old kid to play with other foreign kids?
- any good international day care?

hope any one can help us... thanks in advance

Hi there,
Coincidentally, my family is staying in magnolia apartment. We just moved in here in mar this year. I have not found any volunteer work place here for my wife yet, especially when language is a barrier. But let's hook up when you move in here and we can try to help you as much. There are very few foreign kids in Nantong so far. I don't know if there is an international kindergarten, but some kindergartens are bilingual. Usually one of the Chinese teachers speaks English and then there are native English speaking teachers who give the English lessons for kids.

Maybe when you move here and meet other expats, you will get contact details of those kindergartens.

Try some restaurants in downtown area and you will see many foreigners there. Good luck :)
