If you rent an one-bedroom apartment in the centre of Nanjing, the cost must be around 2000 rmb or over. You might need to know first where your institution would be.

Aqua City is close to Fuzimiao walking street.
It shouldn't be a problem to rent an apartment.

How do I find an apartment for just the summer? My friend and I are two college students who want to find an apartment that we can live in for just the summer. Neither of us have ever rented an apartment for so we're new to the process, but all the apartments we find are for long term. Are there apartments out there that people can rent for just the summer and if so how do I go about finding them?

Where do you want your apartment? Suzhou or other cities?
For renting an apartment here in China, you do the samething like what you did before in other countries, from ads, real estate agents, newspapers,... The cheapest residency may be a university dorm and some expat students may like to rent their dorm out to somebody in summer.

2000 RMB is enough to rent an apartment in Aqua City.
